Use Notebook Software to save digital notes and screen captures of other applications or websites.
You can also use Notebook software to do the following:
- Transform all your notes and images into objects that you can reorganize and change
- Move, resize or recolor any object
- Rotate any object
- Attach hyperlinks to objects
- Make objects transparent
- Share Notebook files across platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, UNIX and Linux operating systems
- Insert backgrounds and images. A gallery of over 5,000 images and templates includes music notation sheets, clocks, maps, sports fields, solar systems, shapes and protractors, and much more.

- Save files in various formats, including .pdf and .html, or save individual Notebook pages as separate image files in the format of your choice (e.g., JPEG, PNG, GIF)

Access functions easily with the Floating Tools palette. The palette can be customized and saved using a user profile
Focus attention with the Spotlight feature, which hides the entire screen except for one area. Applications, files and websites can be accessed by clicking in the spotlighted area, and the spotlight can be moved or resized as needed.
Record all screen activity as a video file, and include audio from a microphone. With SMART Recorder, recording can be paused or stopped at any time and saved in standard formats (e.g., AVI for Microsoft Windows and MOV for Macintosh). The entire presentation can then be replayed as a synchronized audio and video file.
Write over video using SMART Video Player (Microsoft Windows) or QuickTime Player (Macintosh). Write over moving or still video, freeze frames and save or clear digital notes from such sources as VCRs, DVD players and computer files.
Type with the on-screen keyboard to quickly add text, numbers or symbols into any application without needing your computer keyboard.
